About

St. Bruno Catholic Church has been serving the Archer Heights Community since 1925 when the Archdiocese of Chicago approved the purchase of land located on Harding between 48th and 49th Streets.

Eight pastors and many priests, sisters and lay people have served this community during these past years.

A school was built in 1926 and its first class graduated in 1927. The Felician Sisters taught in the school until the 1990′s. Today there is a dedicated staff of lay people contining the fine traditions of catholic education.

Active parish organizations include the School Board, Holy Name Society, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Mothers’ Club, Choirs, Children of Mary Sodality, Rap Club, and scouting and athletic programs.

St. Bruno parish involves itself with the community and cooperates with local law enforcement agencies, the local civic group (Archer Heights Civic Association), Chicago Park District, and area public elementary and high schools. Members of St. Bruno Church “share” with Holy Family Church at Roosevelt Rd. and May St.
