Teen Club
Teen Club
Teen Club has grown with phenomenal success! Starting with only eighteen teens, the Teen Club had over seventy members since 2000. Over one hundred members have been part of the organization since 1996.
At its bi-monthly meetings, members can socialize, have fun, learn about God, and discuss important teen issues. Regular activities include outings to Great America, a CYO water park beach party, White Sox outings, Bull’s games, bowling outings, hayride and much more. Interest in the St. Bruno Teen Club is very high, and membership is open to any area youth aged 13 to 18 years of age.
The St. Bruno Teen Club was originally founded back in 1971 under the direction of Deacon Sal Villa, and was formerly known as the Rap Club. It consisted of 8th graders and St. Bruno Alumni. At least two subsequent teen programs also were organized under Fr. Steve Kanonik and even later by Mrs. Elna Fudacz. Several years elapsed, and in January 1996, under Mrs. Mary Lynn Chyba, the teen club was reorganized, and she asked for help. Several parents came to her assistance, and one remained. Mrs. Elna Fudacz is currently the co-moderator of our Teen Club.

Teen Club members have also participated in the Red Ribbon Days (Saying No to Drugs national Campaign), attended the annual Gift Day at the Illinois Children’s Rehab Hospital, attended Vicariate Youth Outbreak Rallies, and participated in Straight talk Sessions at St. Christina’s. Members have also attended the four-day National Catholic Youth Conference in St. Louis in November 1999. Kristen Stupka, one of our members, also participated in the Paris World Youth Day in 1998 with Pope John Paul II. Lenten Cluster activities and Vicariate Cluster teen masses are also on the agenda.
